The graphics were good, at least there's that.

But what about all this I've been hearing about 360s breaking down all the time? And Microsoft increasing their warranties?

The 360 is just as unreliable as the PS3 - but I'd rather have a PS3 than a 360. I've also heard some people weren't too happy with the 'repairs' on their 360s.
